In June-July 2025, interest in renting housing in Ukraine significantly increased, with the growth in demand recorded in all regions of the country. An analytical study by the DIM.RIA marketplace shows that the rental market is becoming increasingly active in both rear and front-line regions, although the supply and prices differ depending on the region.
The most impressive growth in demand for renting housing was recorded in Sumy region - by as much as 41% compared to the previous month. It is followed by Zakarpattia (+36%) and Khmelnytskyi region (+34%). A significant increase in interest is also observed in Kirovohrad (+29%), Poltava (+28%), Odesa (+26%), Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi (both +24%) regions.
In terms of new rental ads, the same regions are in the lead. The largest increase in new offers was observed in Sumy region (+79%) and Chernihiv region (+60%). However, these regions still remain among those where the total number of available rental properties is one of the lowest in the country.
At the same time, in some regions, on the contrary, there was a reduction in offer. For example, in Zaporizhia and Volyn regions, the number of announcements decreased by 22%, and in Kyiv - by 3% compared to May. This may indicate the depletion of affordable housing stock or a change in landlord behavior.
Rental prices in most regions of Ukraine remain relatively stable, with minor fluctuations within a few percent. However, there are exceptions. In Poltava, Zaporizhia and Mykolaiv regions, a price increase of 7% was recorded, while in Kirovohrad region, rents fell by 27%, and in Zakarpattia - by 8%.
Kyiv remains the most expensive city to rent — the average cost of an apartment here in June was UAH 18.4 thousand. For the first time since the start of the full-scale war, the top 5 regions in terms of rental costs included Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 14.7 thousand) and Volyn region (UAH 14.3 thousand). Lviv region was in fourth place, and Transcarpathia was in sixth.
Thus, the rental market in Ukraine demonstrates tangible dynamics on both the demand and supply sides, which indicates the adaptation of the population to wartime conditions and a change in housing priorities in different regions of the country.
