In September 2025, the Ukrainian car market received more than 23.3 thousand used passenger cars imported from abroad. This is 37% more than in the same period in 2024, Ukravtoprom reports.
Analysts note that compared to August, demand for used cars increased by another 3%. The lion's share of the segment is occupied by gasoline cars - 45%, while electric cars made up 29%, diesel cars - 18%, hybrids - 5%, and vehicles with gas equipment - 3%.
The average age of used cars that received Ukrainian license plates in September is 8.4 years. Interestingly, electric cars overtook gasoline cars for the first time in terms of sales, demonstrating a change in market trends and the growing popularity of environmentally friendly transport.
The top 10 most popular models in September were led by the Volkswagen Golf with 1,133 units sold. The list also included:
Tesla Model Y – 929 units
Tesla Model 3 – 738 units
Volkswagen Tiguan – 692 units
Renault Megane – 671 units
Nissan Leaf – 651 units
Audi Octavia – 644 units
Audi Q5 – 630 units
Nissan Rogue – 526 units
KIA Niro – 495 units
According to analysts, since the beginning of 2025, Ukrainians have purchased 181.8 thousand imported used cars, which is 3% more than in the same period last year. This indicates a stable interest in the used car market, especially given the popularity of electric vehicles and the trend towards environmentally friendly transport.
The growth in demand for imported cars also reflects the transformation of the structure of the country's automobile fleet: consumers are actively choosing not only traditional gasoline and diesel models, but also modern electric vehicles and hybrids that meet modern technological and environmental standards.
