The Sumy region will receive the second tranche of state aid in the amount of UAH 100 million by the end of 2025, which will be directed to support frontline communities. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

Minister of Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Kuleba emphasized that frontline regions are an important frontier for protecting Europe from Russian aggression. “Despite daily shelling, we must ensure resilience and preparation for the heating season,” Kuleba said on October 31 during the conference “Resilience and European Future of Sumy Region”.

According to the minister, it was in Sumy region that the implementation of the “Frontline Region Support Program” began, which aims to quickly restore, strengthen security and increase the resilience of communities. The program is aimed at ensuring the basic needs of residents, developing infrastructure and preparing for emergencies.

This year, the state has already allocated UAH 200 million in additional subsidies for 25 communities in the region. The funds were used to purchase modular shelters, building materials, special equipment, transport, as well as to carry out emergency and recovery work. This allowed significantly increasing the readiness of the territories to potential threats and ensuring a basic level of security for residents.

The program covers 238 communities with over 6.6 million residents who are at risk. The main priorities are the prompt restoration of infrastructure, increasing the safety of the population, and supporting the development of territories suffering from constant shelling and military threats.

Thus, the second tranche of UAH 100 million will allow for the continuation of the implementation of strategic projects for frontline communities in Sumy region, ensuring the stability of the region, and supporting the livelihoods of the population in conditions of military danger.
