In early November 2025, the Ukrainian pork market may face a significant drop in purchase prices. According to the forecast of the analytical department of the Meat Industry Association, in the period from November 3 to 9, the average cost of live pigs in Ukraine will fall to 71–72 UAH per kilogram. This will be one of the lowest indicators in recent months.
Experts explain that this trend is primarily due to a change in the price situation on European markets, where there is a seasonal decrease in the cost of pork. According to the German VEZG exchange, next week the prices for half-carcasses of conditioned pigs are set at 1.70 euros/kg (approximately 83.05 UAH/kg), and for sows - 0.85 euros/kg (approximately 41.65 UAH/kg). All amounts are given without VAT.
A similar situation is observed on the Polish market. According to the CennikRolnicze exchange, the average price of live pigs is PLN 5.12/kg, which is equivalent to UAH 58.88/kg. The price range varies from PLN 4.40 to PLN 6.70/kg (i.e. from UAH 50.6 to UAH 77.05/kg), depending on the quality of the animals and the region of sale.
A decline in the cost of pork is also recorded on a global scale. According to the latest data, prices for slaughter weight of pigs have decreased in all major producing countries:
in the European Union - to €1.77/kg, which is 4% less than a week earlier;
in Brazil - €1.70/kg (a decrease of 2%);
in the USA - €1.68/kg, which corresponds to a decrease of 9%;
in Canada — 1.38 €/kg, 4% below the previous level.
Ukrainian experts note that the domestic market reacts to these fluctuations with some delay, but the general trend is already obvious: excess supply and reduced demand for meat in the cold season will lead to a noticeable decrease in the price of pork on the domestic market.
Analysts predict that if the situation in the EU does not stabilize, prices in Ukraine may continue to decline, especially in regions with a high concentration of pig farms. This, on the one hand, creates certain difficulties for producers, but, on the other hand, gives consumers a chance to see cheaper pork on store shelves in the coming weeks.
