In October 2025, the average actual price for natural gas produced in Ukraine rose to UAH 19,987 per thousand cubic meters. This is 1.7% more than in September, when gas cost UAH 19,644 per thousand cubic meters.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy. Over the year, the actual sales price of Ukrainian gas increased by 38.7% compared to October 2024, when the average price was UAH 14,405 per thousand cubic meters.
The calculation of the price for October 2025 was based on the arithmetic average of several indicators for the period from September 1 to 30, 2025. In particular, the following were taken into account:
the weighted average price of gas transferred or supplied to Naftogaz of Ukraine, while no new contracts were concluded in September 2025;
the weighted average price of gas sales on organized commodity markets, where no new contracts were concluded;
the arithmetic average price based on data from external analytical sources: UAH 20,118 per thousand cubic meters according to the Argus European Natural Gas report for August 2025 and UAH 19,855 according to ICIS European Spot Gas Market data for September 2025.
It is worth noting that the increase in the market price does not affect tariffs for household consumers. More than 12 million households, or more than 98% of users, pay a fixed tariff of UAH 7.96 per cubic meter of gas from Naftogaz of Ukraine. This tariff is fixed until April 30, 2026 inclusive.
Thus, although the market price of gas in Ukraine is showing significant growth, protecting household consumers from price increases remains a key priority of state policy, ensuring stability for households.
