Ukrainian and German drone manufacturers have joined forces to create a joint defense enterprise Quantum Frontline Industries (QFI) as part of the “Building with Ukraine” initiative. The new enterprise will build Europe’s first fully automated industrial line for the production of Ukrainian drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports, citing a press conference in Berlin on the sidelines of the German-Ukrainian Business Forum.

The joint venture was created by Quantum Systems (Germany) and Frontline Robotics (Ukraine). Its main goal is to produce drones on a scale determined by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. All systems manufactured at facilities in Germany will be directly supplied to the Ukrainian military.

The new production line combines Ukrainian drone technology with German expertise in scaling and automation, setting a new standard for cross-border cooperation in the defense sector. The project also provides for the creation of additional jobs for Ukrainians in Germany.

Quantum Systems will be responsible for the industrial infrastructure and production processes, while Frontline Robotics will provide licensed development, personnel training, and full operational and technical support in accordance with NATO standards. This guarantees the high quality and reliability of the drones produced.

Frontline Robotics CEO Yevhen Tretyak emphasized the importance of creating the first Ukrainian-German defense enterprise. According to him, equipping the Armed Forces of Ukraine with thousands of new drones will significantly increase the country's defense capability and help repel Russian aggression.

QFI Managing Director Matthias Lena noted that the enterprise has three key goals: scaling production, expanding the product portfolio, and developing new solutions. “Our project combines German engineering expertise with a Ukrainian sense of urgency to ensure mass production of drones and innovative technologies,” explained Lena, who previously served as an infantry officer in the German Armed Forces.

The creation of QFI is the result of a strategic partnership signed earlier this year and marks an important step towards the formation of a new European drone industry that combines advanced Ukrainian developments with German engineering. The exact location of the production is not disclosed for security reasons.
