Kyiv region has strengthened the energy security of social institutions thanks to international support: the Lithuanian organization Stiprūs kartu, with the assistance of the Embassy of Lithuania in Ukraine, has transferred 40 sets of autonomous equipment. The generators were received by family-type orphanages.
The head of the Kyiv OVA Mykola Kalashnyk reported on the transfer of equipment, noting that the aid comes in one of the most difficult periods of this winter, when the risks of power outages are particularly high.
Each set is designed to autonomously ensure the operation of institutions during emergencies. It includes a 6 kW diesel generator, an extension cord, an LED spotlight and a heater. Such equipment allows maintaining basic living conditions even in the event of long power outages.
The generators were transferred to 40 family-type orphanages, where 318 orphans and children deprived of parental care are raised. This guarantees that the young residents of the institutions will have a stable power supply in critical conditions.
According to Kalashnyk, such assistance is part of the large-scale international support for the Kyiv region. In the last week alone, the region has received 478 generators with a total capacity of 3.853 MW from partners, which allows ensuring the operation of critical infrastructure and social sphere facilities even in the complete absence of centralized power supply.
The head of the OVA emphasized that thanks to such supplies, the region's resilience to emergency situations is increased, and residential and social institutions can function effectively even in difficult winter conditions. Generators help not only orphanages, but also other critical infrastructure facilities, which ensures stability and safety for all residents of the Kyiv region.
