In 2025, JSC Ukrnafta drilled 25 new wells, which was a record in recent years, and increased oil and gas production by 3.39% compared to 2024. The company reported this on February 3.
According to Ukrnafta, the increase in production was made possible thanks to comprehensive measures: new drilling, production intensification and other technological solutions. Oil production in 2025 increased by 3.77%, and gas - by 2.86% in oil equivalent.
The 25 new wells in 2025 exceed the previous year's figure by 150% - in 2024, the company drilled only 10 wells. Seven of them were built by the company itself, which emphasizes the growth of Ukrnafta’s internal production capabilities.
The company notes that drilling volumes began to grow steadily after the transition to state management. Until 2023, the pace of new drilling remained minimal: an average of one or two wells per year. In 2025, as many wells were drilled as in the entire period of 2015–2022.
As for the total drilling length, the volume of penetration also demonstrated growth dynamics: in 2023, 6,188 meters were drilled, in 2024 — 11,082 meters (+79%), and in 2025 — 18,994 meters (+71%).
Thus, 2025 became a landmark year for Ukrnafta: not only was a record set for the number of new wells, but the growth of the company's production capacity was also confirmed, which allows ensuring a stable increase in energy production in Ukraine.
