A moderate decline in demand was recorded in the Ukrainian market for new commercial vehicles. These are trucks and specialized vehicles, the sales of which in January of this year were somewhat lower than in the same period last year.
According to Ukravtoprom, 946 new commercial vehicles were sold in Ukraine in January. In annual terms, this is 3% less than in January of last year, which indicates a restrained dynamics in the corporate and special transport market.
Despite the general reduction in volumes, the market structure remains quite stable. The key positions are traditionally held by European brands, although individual manufacturers were able to demonstrate significant sales growth.
The leader in the number of new commercial vehicles sold in January was the Renault brand. However, the brand's results were worse than last year: 157 vehicles were sold, which is 29% less year-on-year.
Citroën and Peugeot took second and third place, respectively. Citroën sold 94 cars, improving its result by 21% compared to January last year. At the same time, Peugeot demonstrated the most dynamic growth among the market leaders - sales increased by 221%, to 93 units.
JAC and Fiat also entered the top five most popular brands. Chinese manufacturer JAC sold 66 new commercial vehicles, which is 89% more than a year earlier. Fiat, for its part, ended the month with 60 cars sold, increasing sales by 30%.
Thus, despite the general decline in demand for new trucks and specialized vehicles, individual brands were able not only to maintain their positions, but also to significantly strengthen their presence in the Ukrainian market.
