The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management recommended that the parliament adopt in the second reading a bill that provides for a significant one-time financial assistance to families of deceased employees of the State Emergency Service (SES).
According to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada, this is bill No. 13418, which takes into account the proposals of MPs Andriy Motovylovets and Oleh Bondarenko, aimed at strengthening the social protection of rescuers and their families.
The document determines the amount and procedure for paying one-time financial assistance in cases where a SES employee died in the performance of his duties, is in captivity or is considered missing. The provisions of the bill apply to the period of martial law in Ukraine.
According to the draft, the amount of one-time assistance will be up to 15 million hryvnias. This takes into account the already received financial support of the rescuer, and the amount of payment cannot exceed the specified limit.
If the SES employee has previously made a personal order regarding the recipients of funds, the payment will be made in accordance with this document. In the absence of an order, the family members and dependents of the rescuer receive the funds in accordance with current legislation.
The draft law aims to provide financial support to the families of rescuers in emergency situations, recognizing the risks and selfless work of SES employees who protect the lives and safety of Ukrainian citizens every day.
