In January 2026, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine ensured stable financing of local budgets by transferring 17.8 billion UAH to their general fund. This amount is 99.4% of the amount of funds provided for by the state budget for the corresponding month, which indicates almost full implementation of the planned indicators.

This was reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, emphasizing that all payments were made within the framework of current budget legislation. The transfer of inter-budgetary transfers took place on time and in full for key areas of community support.

According to official information, the basic subsidy for local budgets in January amounted to 2.6 billion UAH, which corresponds to 100% of the planned amount. This allowed communities to ensure financing of protected and priority expenditures at the beginning of the year.

In addition, additional subsidies were also transferred in full. Their total amount was UAH 1.7 billion, which made it possible to strengthen the financial capacity of local budgets and support regions with an increased burden on the expenditure side.

An important indicator of financial stability in the localities remains the balances of funds in the accounts of local budgets and budget institutions. As of February 1, 2026, they reached UAH 107.8 billion for general and special funds.

The Ministry of Finance emphasizes that the availability of such resources allows local governments to continue to finance priority needs at the local level without interruption. This includes ensuring the operation of municipal institutions, social programs and other areas of critical importance for communities.
