In 2025, Ukrzaliznytsia significantly increased income from renting commercial space at railway stations. According to the results of the year, the company not only expanded the amount of space available to tenants, but also tripled its income from this area of activity. This was reported by the carrier's press service.
According to the company, during 2025, the area at the stations that are rented increased by 1,783 square meters. The expansion of commercial space made it possible to attract new services for passengers and provided additional financial income. Thanks to this, monthly rental income increased by approximately UAH 4 million.
The company also noted that open auctions in the Prozorro.Sales system played an important role in increasing profitability. It was thanks to competitive bidding that the average rental rate at train stations in 2025 increased by 44% and reached UAH 1,651 per square meter.
The most noticeable growth in rental income was recorded at train stations in Uzhhorod, Rivne and Lviv. It was these transport hubs that showed the fastest dynamics of commercial infrastructure development among Ukrainian train stations.
At the same time, the largest area of leased premises is traditionally concentrated at the main train station of the country - Kyiv-Passenger. In 2025, about 1.46 thousand sq. m of space was leased here, which is 2.1 times higher than the previous year.
It was at this train station that the largest number of new commercial facilities were opened during the year. In particular, a new lounge area, catering establishments, shops, food courts, cafes and even a flower shop began to operate for passengers. Similar services gradually appeared at other train stations across the country.
The company emphasizes that the development of commercial infrastructure at train stations will continue. Ukrzaliznytsia plans to expand rental space and increase income from this area of activity.
In the near future, new commercial locations are planned to open at Odesa train station, where the company continues to develop infrastructure for passengers and create modern services on the territory of the transport hub.
