The government of Ukraine has decided to allocate 281.3 million hryvnias from the state budget reserve fund to support emergency repair crews who restored electricity and heat after massive Russian attacks. This was announced by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, the funds will be sent to the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Community Development to pay for work performed in February 2026. In particular, 190.7 million hryvnias are provided for Ukrainian energy workers. Each of the 14 thousand emergency crew workers will receive 20 thousand hryvnias as assistance for work in extremely difficult conditions.
The minister emphasized that in January 2026, the Ministry of Energy has already paid almost 152 million hryvnias to about 8 thousand employees. Over 9.5 thousand people will receive assistance from the Ministry of Energy in February, Shmyhal noted.
The support program has been expanded and modified. It now includes not only direct workers of emergency crews, but also leaders of such crews during the performance of work, as well as employees of enterprises of other industries who were sent on business trips for restoration work at the request of regional military administrations.
The Minister reported that the next tranche of assistance will be paid for work performed in March. At the same time, enterprises will be able to submit lists of workers involved in the restoration for April through the "Diya" portal.
This decision of the government emphasizes the strategic importance of supporting specialists who ensure the stability of energy and utility infrastructure during the war, and also demonstrates the state's desire to systematically reward people for performing complex and dangerous work.
