Despite the full-scale war, the Ukrainian IT sector demonstrates high resilience and continues to play an important role in the country's economy. According to the study "Code of Economy", created jointly with the IT Ukraine Association, the technology industry provides a significant share of service exports, tax revenues and jobs, confirming its status as one of the key drivers of growth.
The total volume of the Ukrainian IT market in 2025 amounted to $ 7.85 billion, and the industry's share in service exports reached 41.6%. The contribution of the IT industry to the country's gross domestic product was 3.2%, and tax revenues to the budget exceeded UAH 50.5 billion.
The study also demonstrates the multiplier effect of the IT sector: each hryvnia created in the industry generates an additional UAH 1.09 in related sectors of the economy. In addition, one IT specialist creates an average of 2.29 jobs in finance, logistics, education and public administration, which emphasizes the significant impact of the industry on employment.
Today, more than 305 thousand IT specialists work in Ukraine, and the number of active companies in the sector is 2,243 units. Together with related industries, the IT economy supports more than 800 thousand jobs, which makes it an important component of the national economy.
Digitalization shows high resilience to crisis phenomena. The High-IT segment has shown growth of 19.9% in the recent period, while less digitalized sectors of the economy have grown by only 4.7%, confirming that investments in IT remain an effective development mechanism even in difficult conditions.
As for export markets, the main consumer of Ukrainian IT services remains the USA, providing almost $ 2.4 billion in revenue. Other key partners include Malta, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Israel, Switzerland, Germany, Estonia, Poland, and the United Arab Emirates, which indicates the broad geography of exports and the high competitiveness of Ukrainian IT companies in the global market.
