Yulia Svyrydenko announced the government's approval of the draft law on amendments to the state budget for 2026. The decision was made possible thanks to financial support from the European Union in the amount of 45 billion euros provided under the Ukraine Support Loan program.
According to the updated budget parameters, the state's total revenues will increase by more than 2.2 trillion UAH. The largest part of the additional funds is directed to the security and defense sector, which remains a key priority of financial policy in times of war.
Of the total, 1.56 trillion UAH is earmarked for the needs of the defense sector. Of this amount, 1.37 trillion UAH is planned to be used for the purchase of weapons and the development of military equipment, which should strengthen the capabilities of the Ukrainian army.
Another UAH 174.3 billion is earmarked for the financial support of military personnel, and an additional UAH 14.6 billion will form a reserve for operational financing of unforeseen needs in the defense sector.
Separately, the budget provides for support for the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex, which should ensure the modernization of production and an increase in the volume of domestic weapons production.
In addition to military spending, a significant part of the funds is directed to strengthening regional resilience. About UAH 40 billion is allocated for the implementation of the so-called "Resilience Plans" of communities. These resources will be used to protect energy infrastructure, prepare for the heating season, and ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical facilities.
An additional UAH 40 billion will be directed to the state reserve fund, which is used for an operational response to emergencies caused by the war.
After approval by the government, the draft law should be considered by parliament. The final decision on changes to the budget will be made by the people's deputies during a vote in the session hall.
