Ukraine continues to remain one of the key players in the global agricultural market. Since the beginning of the 2025/2026 marketing year, as of May 11, the country has exported over 31.14 million tons of grain and leguminous crops. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, citing data from the State Customs Service of Ukraine, writes agronews.ua.
The total volume of grain exports indicates the stable functioning of the agricultural sector even in conditions of complex logistics and external challenges. At the same time, the structure of supplies demonstrates certain changes compared to the previous marketing year.
The largest share of exports is traditionally wheat. Since the beginning of the current MY, Ukraine has exported 11.61 million tons of this crop, while for the same period last year the figure was higher and amounted to 14.49 million tons.
A noticeable decrease was also recorded in barley exports. In the 2025/2026 marketing year, Ukraine exported 1.46 million tons, while a year earlier this figure reached 2.29 million tons. This indicates a reduction in the volume of supplies of this crop to foreign markets.
Corn exports also decreased slightly. During the reporting period, Ukraine shipped 17.62 million tons of this grain crop compared to 19.8 million tons in the previous marketing year, which reflects the overall dynamics of a moderate decrease in the volume of exports of key crops.
It is worth noting the indicators of less mass items separately. Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has exported only 0.2 thousand tons of rye, while in the previous period this volume was 10.8 thousand tons, which indicates an almost complete reduction in this export item.
In addition to grain, Ukraine also exported flour. During the reporting period, the volume of supplies amounted to 55.1 thousand tons, which is less compared to 62.3 thousand tons for the same period of the previous marketing year. Thus, the overall dynamics of agricultural exports demonstrates the preservation of significant volumes, but with a moderate decrease in most items.
