Ukraine and Moldova have signed five international certificates that significantly expand the possibilities of Ukrainian agricultural exports and simplify access for domestic producers to the Moldovan market. The new agreements open up additional trade directions for food products from Ukraine.
This was reported by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection. The department noted that the signed documents form an updated system of veterinary and certification requirements, which allows Ukrainian producers to work according to standards agreed with the Moldovan side.
According to the agreements, from now on, Ukraine will have the right to export live snails and snail caviar to Moldova. In addition, access has been opened for the supply of meat products, including rendered animal fats, greaves, meat extracts and other poultry meat processing products. The corresponding MPNT-POU certificate is used for this.
Separately, the parties updated and re-approved three more certificates that take into account the updated requirements of Moldovan regulations. This allows for the continuation of uninterrupted supplies of a number of categories of agricultural products without additional barriers for exporters.
Among the updated export areas are animal feed of plant origin, semi-finished poultry meat products, as well as fresh poultry meat intended for human consumption. Thus, Ukrainian producers retain access to several key segments of the Moldovan market.
The State Food and Consumer Protection Service emphasizes that the signing of such certificates is an important stage in the development of bilateral trade between the countries. Harmonization of veterinary and sanitary requirements allows not only to expand the list of permitted products, but also to increase the predictability of exports for Ukrainian companies.
