Ukraine is preparing to launch production of modular houses for internally displaced persons using Swedish technologies. The project will be implemented within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine with international partners in the field of housing policy and humanitarian support.

This was reported with reference to the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Minister of Social Policy Denys Ulyutin and the Chairman of the Board of the Swedish Aid Center Foundation Serhiy Porokhnavets. The document defines key areas of future interaction in the field of housing.

The main objective of the partnership is to deploy production facilities directly in Ukraine, as well as the implementation and adaptation of Swedish technological solutions. Modular houses are considered a quick tool for providing housing for thousands of families with further transition to long-term housing programs.

The cooperation also provides for the exchange of experience and the phased implementation of modern approaches to rapid housing construction. This should significantly reduce the time for providing homes for people who have lost their homes due to the war.

The parties paid special attention to the preparation of communities for the winter period. In particular, this concerns the formation of necessary reserves of equipment for internally displaced persons and the communities that host them.

The agreements also plan to strengthen the energy resilience of local infrastructure in order to minimize risks in the event of possible winter challenges and disruptions in the operation of life support systems.

The Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the Swedish Aid Center Foundation and its partner, the charitable organization Ukraine Yelpen Philippus, for their systematic approach and long-term participation in the processes of reconstruction and support of Ukraine.
