As of May 25, 2026, the Ukrainian fruit and berry market is experiencing a further decline in the price of strawberries. Over the recent period, its cost has decreased by approximately 10%, while prices for most other popular fruits remain relatively stable.
The biggest changes in the fruit and berry segment currently concern strawberries. Experts attribute this to an increase in the supply of Ukrainian berries on the market, which traditionally affects the decline in prices during the active harvest season.
At the same time, prices for apples and oranges have not changed significantly. Bananas have become somewhat more expensive over the recent period, but the increase in cost remains insignificant and has not yet had a significant impact on the overall situation on the fruit market.
Analysts predict that the cost of imported fruits, in particular bananas and oranges, will continue to depend on fluctuations in the hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar. The currency factor remains one of the key factors in determining prices for products supplied from abroad.
As for apples, experts do not rule out a gradual increase in prices in the coming months. The reason may be a reduction in stocks of last year's harvest in local farms, which traditionally affects the balance of supply and demand.
Meanwhile, the forecast for strawberries remains the opposite. In the coming days, a further decrease in prices is expected due to an active increase in product volumes on the market.
New batches of domestic greenhouse strawberries from Transcarpathia and the southern regions of the country are already appearing on Ukrainian markets. The expansion of supplies from unheated greenhouses, and subsequently the mass release of berries from open ground, should form a stable trend towards further reduction in the price of products.
