In April of this year, Ukraine imported 225,000 megawatt-hours of electricity, which was the highest figure since the beginning of this year. Compared to March, the volume of commercial imports increased by a third.
This was reported by the press service of the "Energy Company of Ukraine".
It is noted that the state energy trader increased the volume of imports by 1.5 times in April.
The company imported electricity from Hungary and Romania.
EKU ranks second among all suppliers in terms of electricity import volume.
"Ukraine maintains a certain reserve for the further increase of imports. In case of an increase in demand, EKU will respond to it in order to support the energy system and stable energy supply to consumers," noted Vitaliy Butenko, EKU General Director.
