Ukraine will soon receive the first tranche of funds from the revenues received from frozen Russian assets, and this will be an achievement in the framework of the support of the country by European partners. According to the European Commissioner for Trade, Valdis Dombrovskis, the size of the first tranche will be 1.5 billion euros.

In May of this year, a plan for the use of these funds for the benefit of Ukraine was agreed upon, which became possible thanks to the decisions of the European Union and its partners. In total, up to 3 billion euros of frozen assets are expected to be used this year, and the first payment could happen as early as the end of the summer.

According to Dombrovskis, the main attention when using these funds will be given to the needs of the Ukrainian army. He emphasized the importance of quick procurement, which will allow strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities in the conditions of the continuation of the military conflict in the east of the country.

This step is defined as an important stage in the strategy of supporting Ukraine in conditions of geopolitical tensions in the region. The European Union continues to actively act in the international arena, providing support to countries facing an aggressive foreign policy.

Currently under consideration are specific mechanisms for the use of funds, as well as plans for the future, which provide for the development of cooperation and support for Ukraine on the way to strengthening its defense capabilities and economic stability.

Ukraine recognizes the contribution of European partners in strengthening its position on the international arena and is ready to effectively use the received funds to protect national interests and ensure stability within the country.
