Latvian national airline airBaltic has announced the launch of a new flight from Riga to the Polish airport Ryasiv (Rzeszów), which will start on November 8. This innovation will be an important step for the convenience of Ukrainian travelers, because Ryashiv is the closest airport to the Ukrainian border.
Thanks to the opening of a new route, trips for Ukrainian tourists to the Baltic countries and Scandinavia will become much easier. From now on, travelers will be able to easily reach cities such as Vilnius, Tallinn, Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen and Stockholm, with a transfer in Riga. The airBaltic website also offers travel options from Ryašev to other destinations, including Bergen, Billund, Gothenburg, Palanga, Reykjavik and Turku.
In addition, the airline offers flights to such cities as Athens, Baku, Batumi, Berlin, Corfu, Dubai, Dusseldorf, Dubrovnik, Heraklion, Larnaca, Malaga, Malta, Palma de Mallorca, Rhodes, Split, Tbilisi, Tel Aviv and Thessaloniki. This shows the expansion of opportunities for travelers who want to visit different parts of Europe and the Middle East.
As of today, airBaltic offers more than 130 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, as well as seasonally from Gran Canaria. The airline provides connections to numerous destinations in Europe, the Middle East, the Caucasus and North Africa. It is worth noting that before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, airBaltic also operated flights to Kyiv, Odesa and Lviv.
The new route Ryashiv - Riga provides two flights a week. Passengers will have the opportunity to choose between two classes of service: economy and business. The cost of flight tickets starts from 150 zlotys in economy class and 850 zlotys in business class, which makes them affordable for a wide range of travelers.
The opening of the new airBaltic route not only facilitates travel for Ukrainian citizens, but also highlights the growing interest in Polish airports as an alternative gateway to Europe in the context of the changed geopolitical situation. Thus, airBaltic continues to play an important role in the development of air transport in the region, opening up new opportunities for travel.
