Within the framework of the state program "Own Business", another 74 veterans and their family members will receive grant support for a total of 37 million hryvnias. These are the results of the sixth wave of applications in 2025, which became another step in the systematic support of veteran entrepreneurship in Ukraine.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, since the launch of the initiative, more than 1,500 veterans and their family members have already become participants in the program. The total amount of state investments in veteran business has reached about 700 million hryvnias. Grants are provided for starting their own business or expanding an existing business.
Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetyana Berezhna notes that 56% of grant recipients are direct participants in hostilities, the remaining 44% are second spouses of veterans. At the same time, every third applicant applies for financing specifically for opening a new business, which indicates the active involvement of veterans in entrepreneurial activity.
The most common areas in which veteran business is developing remain the processing industry, wholesale and retail trade. These are those industries that allow you to quickly launch activities and adapt to market conditions.
Within the last wave of 74 winners, 47 are combatants, and another 27 are representatives of veterans' families. Most of them, namely 57 people, will receive grants of up to 500 thousand hryvnias. Another 11 businessmen will receive up to 250 thousand, and 6 - the largest grants of up to 1 million hryvnias.
The most active regions in terms of the number of winners were Lviv, Kyiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr regions, as well as the city of Kyiv. These regions demonstrate the highest dynamics in involving veterans in entrepreneurial activities, which creates new opportunities for economic growth and social integration of former military personnel.
