The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to provide compensation for lost crops to villagers who were victims of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion. According to the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, the assistance will be provided to individuals who own land for personal farming or for the construction of a house and other buildings, as well as land for individual gardening.

The amount of assistance will be UAH 3,318 per lost vegetable harvest on an area of 0.01 hectares of land. The maximum area for which assistance will be provided will be 0.2 hectares in Mykolaiv region and 0.3 hectares in Kherson region, which will allow a maximum of UAH 100 thousand.

The Cabinet of Ministers has also allocated UAH 271.46 million from the state budget reserve fund to regional military administrations to provide one-time financial assistance. Mykolaiv region will receive UAH 59.19 million, and Kherson region - UAH 212.27 million.

At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a new budget program "Implementation of measures to support evacuees and people living in de-occupied settlements", which will receive UAH 94.66 million from the account of the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Occupied Territories. Payments for people evacuated to safe areas will remain unchanged - UAH 3,000 for people with disabilities and children and UAH 2,000 for other people.

A month ago, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to provide compensation to the victims of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion regardless of whether they receive payments as internally displaced persons. Payments of UAH 5,000 were made to 2,882 residents of Kherson and 693 residents of Mykolaiv as of July 19.
