On the International Volunteer Day, the National Bank of Ukraine decided to express its gratitude and recognition to Ukrainian volunteers in a unique way. The new commemorative 5-hryvnia coin is titled "Country of Superheroes. Thank you to the volunteers!" and was presented as part of this important event, the NBU press service reported.

This unique coin is an expression of gratitude to Ukrainian volunteers who actively give their strength, organize fundraising, supply necessary equipment, food and medicine, and find effective ways to solve the most pressing problems of Ukraine's defenders.

The obverse of the coin features a stylized image of hands knitting a camouflage net, symbolizing volunteerism as a form of selfless assistance and general support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and all those affected by Russia's armed aggression. This becomes the embodiment of the nation's strength and unity in times of hardship.

The reverse of the coin features a stylized map of Ukraine in the form of a camouflage grid, symbolizing a united country that interacts and is united to achieve a common goal.

The coin, made of nickel silver, has a mintage quality category of "special uncirculated". It weighs 16.5 g and has a diameter of 35.0 mm. The coin has a corrugated surface and a mintage of up to 50 thousand pieces, making it not only a symbolic but also a limited edition monument to the crucial contribution of volunteers to the well-being of Ukraine.
