The Government of Ukraine has decided to fully compensate farmers for demining agricultural land, which is an important step in supporting farmers affected by hostilities. Previously, compensation covered only 80% of the costs, but now the government will provide 100% reimbursement of these costs.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. According to the new conditions, now farmers who have land tax debt or single tax debt (for EP IV group payers) will also be able to participate in the program. In addition, bidding for the purchase of demining services must be conducted through auctions in the Prozorro system with the participation of at least two participants.

Yuliya Svyridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, noted: "We fully cover the cost of humanitarian demining of agricultural land for agricultural producers who plan to clear their plots. The state will pay for these services so that farmers who join the program, as soon as next during the season they could sow and harvest on cleared areas."

Svyridenko also emphasized that the relevant resolution of the Government will enter into force from the day of its publication. This will allow the Humanitarian Demining Center to announce the first tenders for the purchase of humanitarian demining services in the Prozorro system in the near future for those farmers who apply and meet the conditions of the program.

The importance of this initiative lies not only in ensuring security in agricultural areas, but also in supporting the recovery of the agricultural sector in the conditions of constant challenges faced by Ukrainian farmers. Thanks to such state support, farmers will have the opportunity to restore their farms more efficiently and improve the conditions for farming.
