The price of bitcoin may reach $125,000 by the end of next year. This is the prediction of Marcus Thielen, Head of Research at Matrixport, a crypto financial service.

"On June 22, bitcoin reached a new annual high. This signal historically indicates the end of bear markets and the beginning of bullish ones," the expert said.

According to Thielen, the value of the first cryptocurrency can grow by 123% within 12 months and by 310% within a year and a half. With this growth, the price of bitcoin will rise to $65,539 and $125,731, respectively.

The forecast is based on the average returns of similar signals in the past: in August 2012, December 2015, May 2019, and August 2020. Thielen tries to ignore the first case with a 5285% increase over 18 months, calling it "epic" and "disproportionate."

According to coinmarketcap, as of July 8, the value of bitcoin hovers around $30,250. Over the past week, the price of the first cryptocurrency has hardly changed.
