During the New Year holidays from December 21, 2023, to January 10, 2024, Ukrzaliznytsia successfully transported an incredible number of 1.6 million passengers. This is an impressive 33% increase compared to the same period last year.

This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, emphasizing the record passenger traffic during the holiday season. There were 104 trains running across the country, including 10 additional trains that successfully made 92 trips.

Among the most popular trains that carried the most passengers were #127/128 Zaporizhzhia - Lviv, #85/86 Lviv - Zaporizhzhia, and #81/82 Kyiv - Uzhhorod.

"Ukrzaliznytsia also successfully ensured the transportation of the peak number of children in group orders to the mountains for vacation, making the holiday period even more comfortable for travelers.

It is worth noting that 2889 military personnel were able to get home on time for their long-awaited vacation thanks to the service of special ticket orders for the military. This accounts for 74.5% of the total number of trips booked through the online portal and eliminates the possibility of slipping off the plan during peak winter transportation.

In 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia achieved an impressive result - 25 million passengers were transported on long-distance trains. In particular, a record 2.1 million passengers were transported to European countries. This is a significant increase by 2.1 times compared to the previous year, which indicates the increased popularity of international routes.
