The Ukrainian market of white cabbage is experiencing a new price increase, after a short period of decline, according to analysts of the EastFruit project.

The analysts point out that the stocks of cabbage in farms are rapidly decreasing, as farmers limit the sale of quality products, which leads to higher prices. The cost of white cabbage is currently 8-13 UAH/kg ($0.21-0.34/kg), an average of 30% higher than at the end of last week.

One of the main reasons for the price increase is the limited supply of white cabbage, as many Ukrainian producers have already sold their stocks. Wholesale companies are also actively replenishing their stocks, contributing to the price increase.

As of today, prices for white cabbage in Ukraine are 22% higher than in the same period last year. Nevertheless, many market participants see this price increase as a temporary phenomenon, expecting large producers to start active sales in early February, which will increase supply and reduce prices.
