Oleksandr Gaidu, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, member of the Servant of the People faction, spoke about the importance of expanding support for milk producers and processors in Ukraine. He emphasized that the dairy industry faces numerous problems that hinder its development, so it is necessary to actively attract state support.
The parliamentarian noted that a dialog between the government and business in this area is an important step in finding solutions. According to him, this communication may result in the development of draft laws and the adoption of laws aimed at supporting the dairy sector.
Gaidu believes that state support for the dairy industry should be unambiguous. He emphasized that without lending, it becomes difficult for both medium and large enterprises, and the situation becomes even more difficult for small enterprises. Therefore, it is important to implement both credit and government programs, and perhaps even receive subsidies from international partners in the form of grants.
He also recalled the existing loan programs for agricultural producers and the discussion of increasing the amount of loans per farmer. Such measures are aimed at improving the situation in the dairy industry and ensuring its sustainable development.
