In January 2024, Ukraine's trade volume amounted to $8.5 billion, up 7% year-on-year, according to the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
During this period, Ukraine imported goods worth $5.1 billion, while exports totaled $3.4 billion.
It is noted that 90% of imported goods were taxed, totaling $4.5 billion. The tax burden per kilogram of taxed imports increased by 38% compared to the same period last year, amounting to $0.49 per kilogram.
The largest suppliers of goods to Ukraine in January were:
China ($1.1 billion),
Poland ($568 million),
Germany ($388 million).
In turn, the largest export destinations from Ukraine were as follows:
Poland ($334 million),
Spain ($322 million),
China ($305 million).
The following categories dominated the total volume of imported goods in January 2024
machinery, equipment and transport ($1.9 billion)
chemical products ($868 million),
food products ($659 million).
The most popular export goods from Ukraine in January were:
food products ($2.2 billion),
metals and metal products ($362 million)
mineral products ($312 million).
According to the State Customs Service, UAH 23.7 million was paid to the budget during the customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties.
