In February, the top ten best-selling brands took over the Ukrainian automotive market, accounting for almost 40% of the total new passenger car market.
According to Ukravtoprom, the first place in this ranking was once again taken by the compact crossover RENAULT Duster, which retained its leadership this year.
Here are the top ten most popular cars in Ukraine according to Ukravtoprom in February: RENAULT Duster - 603 units; TOYOTA RAV-4 - 298 units; VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 - 257 units; PEUGEOT 301 - 196 units; SKODA Scala - 156 units; MAZDA CX5 - 145 units; KIA Sportage - 132 units; TOYOTA Hilux - 112 units; BYD Song Plus - 110 units; TOYOTA Camry - 108 units.
According to the Automotive Market Research Institute, in February, sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine reached 5.9 thousand units, which is 25.1% more than in January and 62.3% higher than the same period last year.
The market for new cars, which had previously been experiencing a decline, unexpectedly grew in February.
According to the report, most buyers of new cars are individuals who purchased 3783 cars (64.1%), while companies bought only 2132 cars (35.4%).
Most new cars were registered last month in Kyiv (2353 units, 39.8%) and Kyiv region (643 units, 10.9%), which is more than half of the total new car market. Other top regions in terms of car registrations were Dnipropetrovska (430 units, 7.3%), Lviv (339 units, 5.7%) and Odesa (337 units, 5.7%).
In 2023, about 61 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Ukraine for more than UAH 105.5 billion. Legal entities spent more than UAH 34.3 billion on the purchase of new cars, and individuals spent about UAH 71.2 billion.
