The State Statistics Service of Ukraine has released data on the average monthly salary of Ukrainian citizens in the fourth quarter of 2023.
According to the data, the growth of the average monthly salary compared to the same period in 2022 amounted to 16.7%, up to UAH 19,231.
The largest increase in average monthly salaries over the past year was recorded in the construction sector - by 45.3%, which amounts to UAH 14,925.
Significant increases in average monthly salaries were also recorded in the areas of warehousing, auxiliary activities in the field of transport and postal and courier activities, where salaries increased by 41.4%, 41.4% and 40.1%, respectively.
At the same time, the average salary in the field of "Arts, sports, entertainment and recreation" fell by 3.6% to UAH 12,627 in 2023.
If we consider the data for the 4th quarter of 2023 by type of activity, the highest salaries are received by employees in the areas of Information and Telecommunications (UAH 41,326), Financial and Insurance Activities (UAH 37,477), and Air Transport (UAH 36,290).
At the same time, the lowest average salaries in Q4 2023 were recorded in the areas of "Operation of libraries, archives, museums and other cultural institutions" (UAH 12,204), "Creativity, art and entertainment" (UAH 12,627) and "Postal and courier activities" (UAH 13,402).
It is worth noting that the above data does not include the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and areas with armed conflicts.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the average monthly salary is expected to reach UAH 21,809 in 2024, UAH 25,732 in 2025, and UAH 30,260 in 2026, adjusted for the consumer price index.
