In May 2024, the car fleet of Ukraine was replenished with more than 4.1 thousand electric cars. According to Ukravtoprom, the largest number of electric vehicles were purchased in the Lviv region, and the most popular model was the Volkswagen ID.4.
Lviv region became the leader in the number of registered electric cars, with a total of 592 units, of which 94% were used. 507 electric cars are registered in the city of Kyiv, of which 67% are used. Dnipropetrovsk region showed the result of 339 registrations, 79% of which were used cars. There are 260 electric cars registered in Kyiv region (77% of used ones), and 252 (91% of used ones) in Vinnytsia region.
The Volkswagen ID.4 was the most popular model in the markets of new electric cars in the city of Kyiv, Kyiv region and Vinnytsia region. Honda M-NV became the leader in sales of new electric cars in the Lviv region. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the most popular new model was the Nissan Ariya.
Among the used electric cars imported from abroad, Nissan Leaf was the most popular in Lviv and Vinnytsia regions. In the city of Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk region, Tesla Model Y was registered the most, and in Kyiv region Tesla Model 3 became the leader among used electric cars.
These indicators testify to the growing demand for electric cars in Ukraine, particularly in the secondary market. Consumers are increasingly paying attention to environmentally friendly transport, which contributes to the development of infrastructure for electric vehicles and the reduction of harmful emissions into the air.
The active increase in the number of electric vehicles in various regions also indicates the importance of state support and incentives for the transition to environmentally friendly transport. This will not only improve air quality, but also contribute to the country's energy independence.
