In the first quarter of 2024, the global car market showed its sales leaders, where traditional cars with internal combustion engines once again gained the upper hand. The leadership in this list was taken by the Toyota Corolla model.

According to Ukravtoprom, which refers to the focus2move rating, a significant decline in demand for last year's favorite, the Tesla Model Y electric car, which lost almost 30% of its sales, was revealed.

The top ten most popular passenger car models in the world include:

1. Toyota Corolla – with sales of 367,120 units (+11.3%);
2. Toyota RAV4 – 325,704 units (+29.4%);
3. Ford F-Series – 259,191 units (-7.8%);
4. Chevrolet Silverado – 244,779 units (+13.4%);
5. Honda CR-V – 241,384 units (+29.0%);
6. Tesla Model Y – 240,874 units (-29.6%);
7. Hyundai Tucson – 195,595 units (-1.6%);
8. Ram Pick-Up – 191,993 units (+12.0%);
9. Toyota Camry – 187,313 units (-1.5%);
10. Kia Sportage – 175,769 units (+9.6%).

According to experts' analysis, this distribution of sales indicates the stability and popularity of traditional models, especially among mass buyers on different continents. Toyota was able to maintain its leadership position thanks to the reliability and efficiency of its cars, which are highly appreciated by consumers.

It noted that even with the decline in interest in electric vehicles such as the Tesla Model Y, the overall car market continues to show some growth at the expense of popular gasoline and diesel models. This confirms consumer confidence in traditional technologies and the infrastructure that supports their operation.
