Ukraine and Germany launched a joint project to reform the district heating system, which was signed by representatives of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the project "Reformation of the district heating sector in Ukraine (ReWarm)" during the ceremonial opening.
This was reported by the Ministry of Reconstruction and Infrastructure. The main goal of cooperation is to improve the heat supply system at the national and local levels. An important aspect is the creation of conditions for the sustainable modernization of district heating enterprises in Ukraine and the reduction of CO2 emissions in this sector.
According to representatives of the Ministry of Reconstruction, restoration and modernization of the heat supply system is an extremely important task, especially in the conditions of a military conflict. The project not only provides for the restoration of infrastructure damaged by military operations, but also aims to improve the efficiency of heat supply as a whole.
"This project is of strategic importance for Ukraine, as it will contribute not only to the restoration of the infrastructure, but also to the strengthening of energy efficiency and sustainability of the heat supply system. Together with our partners from Germany, we plan to implement innovative approaches that will help reduce the impact on the environment and ensure sustainable energy supply for our communities," said the representative of the Ministry of Reconstruction.
The project also provides for the implementation of advanced technologies and best practices in the field of energy efficiency. This will significantly improve the quality of life of the population, reduce energy costs and increase the stability of energy supply in the regions.
As a result of the implementation of the project, significant progress is expected in the modernization of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, which will become a key factor in increasing the country's competitiveness and sustainable development.
