Ukraine is actively implementing Israeli technologies in the field of water supply, relying on Israel's experience in irrigation and optimizing the use of water resources. According to the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Holovny, this cooperation is extremely important for the recovery of the country's agricultural sector after the loss of the Kakhovskaya HPP and due to the consequences of climate change.
"In connection with climate change and its consequences, especially after the loss of the Kakhovskaya HPP, cooperation in the field of water supply technologies, in particular, irrigation, is extremely important for Ukrainian farmers. The technologies of Israeli companies will help us ensure effective agricultural policy and production, as well as economical use of water and sustainable provision of food security in Ukraine," he emphasized.
According to Vitaly Golovny, the Ukrainian delegation has already studied Israeli drip irrigation and sprinkler technologies with the support of the Israeli international cooperation agency "Mashav" in 2022. Further trips of Ukrainian farmers are planned for 2024 as part of the "Agricultural Advisory Service" and "Intensive Fish Farming" programs.
Vitaly Holovnya also emphasized that cooperation with Israel in these areas is part of Ukraine's strategy for the modernization of the agro-industrial complex and the use of advanced technologies to ensure sustainable development.
Such steps are designed not only to strengthen the domestic agricultural sector, but also to increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian products on the international market, while ensuring environmental sustainability and efficient use of resources.
Ukraine plans to actively develop this cooperation, taking into account the needs and challenges facing the agro-industrial sector in the conditions of the modern world.
