In September 2024, the Ukrainian fleet was replenished with 247 new buses, including minibuses. This is 14% more than in September last year. There is also a significant increase compared to August 2024 — by 53%. This is reported by the association "Ukravtoprom".
Among the new buses that appeared on the market, the share of new vehicles was 63%, which corresponds to last year's figures. This indicates the stability of demand for new buses among Ukrainian consumers. In particular, registrations of such brands were recorded among new buses in September.
Among the used buses, the following brands of vehicles were most registered on the market: Mercedes-Benz — 31 units, Volkswagen — 16 units, and Man — 9 units. This indicates that used buses continue to be in demand among Ukrainian carriers.
Since the beginning of 2024, only 1,415 buses were registered in Ukraine, which is 29% less compared to the same period in 2023. Among them, 803 are new buses, which is 35% less than in the previous year, while 612 are used buses, their number decreased by 19%.
This overall decline in bus registrations points to some of the challenges facing the market, including economic factors and changes in demand. However, growth in September 2024 may signal a possible recovery of the bus market in Ukraine.
Analyzing the bus market, experts draw attention to the need to improve infrastructure and invest in new technologies to ensure sustainable development of the industry. In view of current trends, new bus models must meet the requirements of ecology and energy efficiency, which can positively affect market growth in the future.
