The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has updated the register of medicines and medical devices included in the "Affordable Medicines" reimbursement program. According to the new data, the list includes 589 trade names of medicines, of which 208 patients can receive free of charge.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health, emphasizing the importance of expanding the program for patients with various diseases. The new list includes drugs for the treatment of mental disorders, which is an important step in helping patients with mental problems. In addition, the list includes fentanyl pain patches, which play a key role in palliative care, especially for patients with cancer and severe pain.
These changes were approved by the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 1537 of September 4, 2024, which officially replaces the previous order of February this year. The updated list of medicines and products significantly expands the opportunities for patients to receive the necessary medical care at state expense.
The "Affordable Medicines" program is part of the state guarantees of medical care for the population. Thanks to the reimbursement mechanism, patients can get the drugs and medical devices they need to treat a number of diseases at significant discounts or even for free.
Medical experts emphasize that the updated list not only improves the availability of medicines for patients, but also contributes to better treatment of common diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, asthma and others. The inclusion of new mental health drugs is also increasing the level of medical support in an area that has long remained underserved.
The "Affordable Medicines" program continues to be an important tool of state support for health care, helping thousands of Ukrainians get the treatment they need without financial hardship.
