Google is increasingly using the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) to create its own software. During the announcement of the results for the third quarter of 2024, the company's CEO Sundar Pichai said that more than 25% of the new Google code is developed with the help of AI and undergoes further verification by the company's engineers. This approach allows you to significantly speed up development processes and reduce the burden on the engineering team.
According to the publication *The Verge*, Google simultaneously demonstrates impressive growth in financial indicators, which is largely due to the use of AI. Parent company Alphabet's total revenue reached $88.3 billion in the third quarter, and revenue from Google Cloud, which includes AI-powered infrastructure products, rose 35% year-over-year. This reflects the high demand for AI solutions and their effectiveness.
Google's key services, in particular the search engine, also showed significant growth. Their revenue increased by 13% and amounted to 76.5 billion US dollars. This demonstrates the company's continued dominance in search technology, despite competition and regulatory challenges.
Google is actively introducing artificial intelligence into its products, expanding the possibilities of services for users. Recent innovations include chatbots based on the Gemini AI model, automated notes in Google Meet, and generative tools for the YouTube platform. These technologies are aimed at simplifying the user experience and increasing the interactivity of Google services.
New AI-based features have also appeared in the Pixel 9 line of smartphones, providing users with additional tools for personalized content discovery and device interaction. AI capabilities in Google's search engine now allow you to find more diverse content adapted to individual user requests.
However, despite technological advances, Google faces serious challenges: The US Department of Justice is conducting an antitrust investigation that could threaten the company's dominance of the search and digital advertising markets. Successes in the implementation of AI help Google to maintain its position, but regulatory pressure can significantly affect the further activities of the corporation.
