A new deep-freezing vegetable plant is planned to be built in Mykolaiv Oblast, which will be an important stage in the development of the region's agro-processing industry. This plant will produce frozen vegetables for further use in the food industry. This was announced by the Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine Vitaly Koval during his visit to the enterprise, which, despite the difficult conditions of the war, continues its activities.
The enterprise, which is currently operating in Mykolaiv Oblast, is engaged in the production of canned fruits, vegetables and meat, ready-to-eat dishes, dried vegetables and fresh salads. Today, it has over 8,500 square meters of production space and provides jobs for about 60 employees. Investments in its development amount to about 12 million euros. However, this is only the first stage - the plans also include the construction of a plant specializing in deep-freezing vegetables.
The Minister of Agricultural Policy emphasized that such an investment will not only contribute to the development of the local economy, but will also make a significant contribution to the food security of Ukraine. "Today, Ukrainian farmers ensure the food security not only of our country, but also of the whole world. And each such plant is a step towards our transition from an agricultural to an agro-industrial state," Koval noted.
The deep-freezing vegetable plant will become an important component of the strategy for the development of deep processing in the agro-industrial sector. The Minister emphasized the importance of creating added value through the processing of agricultural products. This will not only increase export opportunities, but also create new jobs and provide additional revenues to the state budget.
The creation of such processing enterprises is an important step in ensuring the economic sustainability of regions and the country as a whole. After all, as experience shows, the development of the processing industry not only improves food security, but also contributes to the creation of new infrastructure facilities and ensures the sustainable development of local communities.
This plant, like other agro-processing projects, aims not only to support food security in the face of global challenges, but will also give Ukraine additional opportunities to increase its export potential and enter new markets for frozen vegetables.
