The Ukrainian sunflower oil market continues to demonstrate a trend towards rising prices, which has been a hot topic in recent weeks. The main factors influencing price dynamics remain the rising cost of sunflower oil in ports and intense competition for raw materials on the domestic market, APK-inform reports.
According to data received from analysts, purchase prices for sunflower increased by 500-800 hryvnias per ton, which puts them in the corridor between 26,000 and 27,500 hryvnias per ton on CRT terms.
The uneven distribution of raw material supply has become another important aspect of market transformations: many farmers have shown a tendency to delay sales in anticipation of further price increases, while there was a share of farmers who continued to sell sunflower oil due to the need for working capital.
Despite some sales volumes, the total supply remained insufficient to form significant reserves, which kept sunflower oil exports at an acceptable level.
Along with this, some large processing enterprises continued to remain idle due to difficulties with the supply of raw materials, while others considered the possibility of reorienting to the processing of soybeans or rapeseed as an alternative.
Thus, the dynamics of sunflower oil prices is determined by a complex of factors, which forces market participants to be more attentive to the strategies of purchasing and selling raw materials, as well as to actively study market trends to optimize production processes.
