Since the beginning of 2025, 3,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) have been employed in Ukraine with the help of the State Employment Service. This success was made possible thanks to the compensation program, which provides financial support to employers who hire people affected by the war.
1,700 employers benefited from the compensation program for the employment of IDPs during martial law. 72 million hryvnias were reimbursed for their participation in the program. According to this initiative, entrepreneurs receive compensation in the amount of the minimum wage - 8,000 UAH for each employee, which provides additional motivation to hire internally displaced persons.
The compensation program is valid for three months. However, for employed people with disabilities, the period of receiving compensation is extended to six months. This helps to create stable conditions for people with special needs, which significantly increases their chances of employment and adaptation in new conditions.
In general, since the beginning of 2025, compensation has been provided for 3,000 employed people under this program, including 132 with disabilities. This indicates that the program not only promotes the employment of more people, but also actively supports socially vulnerable categories of citizens.
The State Employment Service actively encourages entrepreneurs to employ internally displaced persons, because this not only helps people affected by the war, but also has a positive impact on the country's economy in a difficult military situation.
The compensation program is an important step in supporting internally displaced persons, allowing them to resume their economic activities and integrate into new conditions, thereby reducing social tension and contributing to the restoration of the economy after war losses.
