As of the end of November, the area under winter crops in Ukraine reached almost 6 mln hectares amid active sowing campaign. Out of this total area, 4 mln 798 thou hectares are under winter crops, including 4 mln 162 thou hectares of wheat, 559 thou hectares of barley and 77.2 thou hectares of rye. Over the last week, the company managed to sow another 193.2 hectares of grain. The total area of winter grains planted is very close to the same period last year.
The leaders in terms of wheat planted area are Odesa region (486 thou hectares), Dnipropetrovs'k region (474.2 thou hectares) and Mykolaiv region (325 thou hectares). As for rye, the largest areas were sown in Volyn (15 thou hectares), Rivne (12.4 thou hectares) and Chernihiv (12 thou hectares). The leading regions in terms of barley planted areas are Odesa (154 thou hectares) and Mykolaiv (112 thou hectares).
The results of the sowing campaign show a certain level of stability compared to the previous year, which indicates the effectiveness of agricultural measures in Ukrainian agriculture. This is an important step in maintaining the country's food security and agricultural sustainability.
