In February of this year, the volume of diesel and gas oil exports from Russian ports decreased by 19% compared to January, amounting to 3.79 million tons. Daily exports also decreased by 14%, to 975 thousand barrels per day. This is reported by the A-95 Consulting Group, citing data.

The decline in exports is partly due to a high comparison base. In January, after the autumn export ban was lifted, Russian oil companies were actively unloading fuel to reduce surpluses in the domestic market.

However, attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian refineries in January and February also contributed to a decrease in marine shipments. For example, on January 21, the Novatek Ust-Luga gas processing complex in the Gulf of Finland was attacked, and distillate production there was only resumed on February 11.

Most western Russian ports reduced distillate shipments in February. For example, the largest diesel terminal in Primorsk reduced exports from 2.21 million tons to 1.72 million tons.

In February, no gasoil shipments were made from the Ust-Luga terminals, whereas in January 95,000 tons of product were exported from there.
