Australia has announced the provision of a new aid package to Ukraine in the amount of 100 million dollars, which includes military aid and the purchase of important equipment. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.
As part of this package, half of the allocated amount, namely 50 million dollars, will be directed to the purchase of portable anti-aircraft missile systems (MANPADS), which are an important part of the military arsenal.
In addition, according to the terms of the package, $30 million will be used to purchase drones within the framework of the drone coalition, which will strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities in wartime conditions.
The rest of the funds will be directed to other military needs of Ukraine, as well as to the transfer of air-to-ground munitions, which expands the country's military support.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the total amount of aid from Australia has amounted to more than $655 million, of which $540 million is for military support.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expressed his gratitude to Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles for his active participation in Ukrainian affairs and for the concrete assistance that Australia provides to Ukraine at this difficult time.
