Joint-stock company "Ukrzaliznytsia" made an incredible achievement in the first quarter of 2024, transporting a record number of cargoes for export. During January-April this year, 30.4 million tons of goods were delivered, which is 48.8% more than the same period last year. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.

The Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Lyashchenko noted that increasing cargo transportation, in particular export, is the company's priority in 2024, taking into account their importance for the state's economy. Despite the enemy's attempts to disrupt the railway infrastructure, Ukrzaliznytsia managed to achieve a record figure over the past 4 months.

Among the main categories of goods that were exported by railway in 2024, the following can be distinguished:

Grain - 12.9 million tons;
Iron and manganese ore - 12.5 million tons;
Ferrous metals – 1.6 million tons;
Mineral building materials - 867 thousand tons.

In total, during January-April 2024, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 59.9 million tons of cargo, which is 28.7% more than in the same period last year. This testifies to the significant development and efficiency of the company's work.

Note that in February 2024, the total volume of freight transportation by railway amounted to 14.55 million tons, which is 420 thousand tons more than in January. Comparing March 2024 with the same month last year, Ukrzaliznytsia transported a third more cargo - 16 million tons. This is another proof of the company's successful activity.

As a result of the first quarter of 2024, the volume of rail transportation increased by 70% compared to the indicators for the same period of 2023. This testifies to the stable development and high potential of Ukrainian railways in promoting the country's economic growth.
