The first auctions for commercial fishing of aquatic bioresources in Ukraine in 2025 have been canceled. This news was announced by the State Agency for the Development of Land Reclamation, Fisheries and Food Programs. The main reason for this step was a large-scale cyberattack carried out by the Russian Federation, which caused serious technical failures.

As a result of the cyberattack, the functioning of state registers subordinate to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine was temporarily suspended. In particular, the work of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Organizations was stopped. This made it impossible to obtain extracts from the register, which are necessary for participation in the auctions.

Due to these circumstances, it was decided to cancel the announced auctions. As the agency notes, the auctions will be held again after the registers are restored. Currently, preparations are underway for a new auction announcement in the "Prozorro.Sales" system. All changes will be published additionally as soon as technical problems are eliminated.

Recall that on December 20, despite technical difficulties, the agency announced the start of auctions for the right to commercial fishing in 2025. The corresponding announcements were published on December 23, and the deadline for submitting applications was set for January 2. It was planned that the auctions would be held on January 3.

The following lots were included in the auctions: Kyiv Reservoir - 7 lots, Kaniv Reservoir - 7, Kremenchug Reservoir - 10, Kamian Reservoir - 9, Dniprov Reservoir - 7. The waters of the Desna River with lakes within the Chernihiv Region - 5 lots, and the Dnipro River within the same region - 6 lots. In total, 260 lots are planned to be put up for auction in 2025.

At the same time, the DARG assures that the restoration of transparent auctions will remain a priority, as they are a key mechanism for ensuring fair access to aquatic bioresources and the effective use of Ukraine's natural resources. All participants will be able to get a new opportunity to submit applications for participation immediately after the technical issues are resolved.
