Ukrzaliznytsia is strengthening its shunting traction thanks to cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). As part of the support for Ukrainian railway infrastructure, the company will receive 10 battery-powered shunting tractors.
According to the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, the tractors will be used to increase the efficiency of shunting operations at railway stations. They will become an important element in optimizing the operation of railway transport, reducing dependence on diesel fuel and reducing emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
This order of tractors took place within the framework of the "Emergency Support for Ukrainian Railways" project, which is jointly implemented by Ukrzaliznytsia and the EBRD. This project is aimed at supporting the reconstruction and modernization of railway infrastructure, especially in the face of modern challenges.
The supply of new battery-powered tractors will be another step towards creating a modern, efficient and environmentally friendly railway in Ukraine.
