In February 2025, excise revenues to the general fund of the state budget of Ukraine amounted to 15.2 billion hryvnias, which is 88.9% (or 7.2 billion hryvnias) more compared to the same period in 2024. This was the result of the successful work of the State Tax Service, which continues to implement measures to improve tax collection.
This was reported by the press center of the State Tax Service, noting that for the second month in a row there has been a steady increase in excise tax revenues on goods subject to excise duty, both produced in Ukraine and imported. This indicates positive trends in the country's economy and improvement of tax administration mechanisms.
The main figures presented in the report indicate that the implementation of the planned indicators of the revenue part of the budget was 153.4%, which provided an additional 5.3 billion hryvnias. This indicates a significant effectiveness of the tax service policy and the implementation of budget tasks.
One of the main factors in the growth of excise revenues is the increase in excise tax on manufactured and imported tobacco products. Revenues from this type of excise tax increased by 5.1 billion hryvnias, which is 180.9% of the proven task. This was due to the growth in the production and import of tobacco products, which enabled the state budget to receive significant additional funds.
Another factor contributing to the increase in excise revenues was the growth in excise tax on alcoholic beverages produced in Ukraine. Here, revenues exceeded the planned by 0.05 billion hryvnias, or 108.7% of the proven task. This also indicates the successful administration of this sector and the positive dynamics of the production of alcoholic beverages in the country.
Overall, the increase in excise revenues in February 2025 demonstrates positive economic trends and increased efficiency of the State Tax Service. The continuation of this trend can ensure stable financing of the state budget and improve the economic situation in the country.
